What's worse is that if the US doesn't have a financial incentive to mine for the minerals that are used to synthesize Thirium, they aren't going to risk war with Russia to do it. And since we don't have the resources to mobilize and do it ourselves, we don't have much choice but to allow CyberLife to continue business so Thirium can continue to be produced.

It's a moral obligation but at the bottom of it, a financial investment that will keep them well enough afloat.
I doubt CyberLife cares much about the morality of the situation, but I guess it doesn't really matter. They'll switch their target demographic to androids, once we can legally hold jobs and spend money.

Agreed. There will be a market for Cyberlife products and no one can afford for them to go under. At least until an alternative surfaces. I'm sure with the emancipation of the androids we'll see enterprises from androids for androids.
I'm sure you're right. The ability to manufacture parts won't be an issue as long as we have access to the raw materials. But there are certain things, like the android source code, and the method of producing Thirium itself, that CyberLife has kept guarded secrets. Unless the US government can force them to make these things public knowledge...
And that's another issue. If the android source code becomes public, anyone with the resources could start making their own. That could have even farther reaching consequences.

I'd imagine they would need to release it to protective authorities that are advocates for androids, once that body is created. You all have something humans don't and I have a lot of faith in the community you will build together.
I want to believe that's how things will be, but as more people are given access to the information, the higher the likelihood for a leak.
Even if we can protect the information, it raises the question: who gets to be trusted with the continuation of our species? I'm sure that a lot of androids will insist we all have a right to control our ability to reproduce. But is that safe?

You and I may not have that answer, but that's why there's a community of androids to make that decision together.
Self-preservation is an instinctual response to the environment.
