It's been a long time since Raccoon City. But she remembers having to confront Forest, her friend since long before STARS, starting all the way back in her bright-eyed army days. She'd seen him dead then had to make sure he was down on the same day she'd learned that monsters were real. That this kind of zombie resurrection was a real thing.
And he wasn't the only one she'd had to confront that day, dead or alive or... undead. Since then few have gotten past the layers of cement that circle around her endlessly. She can fake friendliness, but she rarely dips into something honest and true with people.
Her reply takes a long moment, enough time that it might seem like she's ignoring him now or using work as an excuse to avoid. Typical for her, when feelings become part of the mix. ]
I try not to. I'm sturdy, though. I stick around once I let someone in and I mean for it to last. You'll have to do a lot to get me to back off and leave you be now, you know. ;)
